Born in Delaware, Jeremy Harris came to Hawaii as a biology student. In 1978 he participated in the Constitutional Convention on Kauai and ran unsuccessfully for a seat in the state House. He was elected to the Kauai County Council in 1980 and then ran for Kauai mayor. He lost, and the people of Kauai said "aloha" to Jeremy. Back in the big city, Jeremy became city managing director under Honolulu Mayor Frank Fasi. As a member of the "Fasi Gang," Harris played dumb when the FBI busted city sewer director Ken Rappolt for illegal fund raising on his behalf. Honolulu Weeky 7-6-94
