The Ballad of Jeremy Harris
By: John S. Pritchett
(Sung to the tune of: Davy Crockett)
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Young Jeremy came to Ha-wa-ii
Got him a pad in Waikiki
Feelin' high and ridin' free
With long hair on a big Har-ley
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
He walked into the university
That's where he learned biology
He worked real hard and got a degree
Then moved over to Ka-ua-i
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
On Kauai he was council chair
But he really wanted to be the mayor
He tried real hard to woo the town
But lost the race then had a breakdown
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Back on Oahu he came to be
Managing director under Frank Fasi
Frank and Jeremy they made a pact
But then Jeremy stabbed Frank in the back
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Jeremy was now Honolulu mayor
Spending tax dollars without a care
He shuffled city funds to hide the facts
And then had to raise your property tax
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Out in Ewa Villages the story goes
Six million stolen right from under his nose
He just whistled and looked at the sky
He knew Judge Graulty wouldn't make him testify
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Now Jeremy wants to lead the state
Being governor would sure be great
But oh what a dreadful thing 't would be
Governor Harris and Mayor Ben Lee
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Now if this should ever come to pass
You had better watch your ass
Neighbor Island folks will climb the walls
When Jeremy starts building those fake waterfalls
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
Jeremy, Jeremy Harris slick as a man can be
***
Sing another Jeremy song. Man of Campaign Sorrow
